Welcome to Butler Elementary! Oct 13, 2025
We are one quarter into the school year. It has been rewarding to watch students grow and adjust to school and to demonstrate mastery of grade level expectations.
Parent Teacher Conferences
Wednesday, Oct 15th from 4-8pm and Thursday, Oct 16th from 8am-8pm are days and times dedicated to Parent Teacher Conferences. Staff have shared their Signup Genius pages with families to schedule a 30 minute conference. Our goal is to have 100% attendance at conferences. Please be sure to sign up and we look forward to these opportunities.
Help us with fueling our staff during parent teacher conferences if you can donate any treats or drinks that would be appreciated. Bring any donations to the main office and we will be sure they are shared with staff on Wednesday and Thursday.
Fall Festivities
Classrooms will be sharing communication regarding fall festivities. Thursday, October 30th will be a spirit day for students to dress up in their favorite fall attire or a costume. If your student would like to wear their costume on that day, they may! Please have your child wear good shoes, no slippers. Please no costumes that are bloody, violent, inappropriate, or too scary. Students may not wear masks or face covering. Costumes should not include items with sound effects, lights, or other components which disrupt the classroom learning environment. Please keep accessories at home and any type of weapon is not allowed.
Anti-Bullying Month
October is the month for Anti-Bullying. Our 3-5th grade students were able to learn about different strategies to use from the Colorado Shakespeare Festival company through a presentation of The Tempest and classroom workshops.
Classrooms have created posters for the hallways with various messages about anti-bullying. They have also committed to help stop bullying and wrote their commitments on paper chainlinks. Be sure to check them out when you are in the building. There will be a chance for families to add their commitments to the chainlinks at parent teacher conferences.
Thursday, October 22nd is Day of Unity for Anti-bullying month. We encourage students to wear orange on this day in support of anti-bullying actions.
Family Literacy Carnival Night
Wednesday, October 22nd from 5:00 - 6:30pm we will be hosting a family literacy carnival night at the public library. There will be games and prizes for those who attend.
Backpack Accessories
Any accessory on a backpack is at risk of being lost or stolen. Students' backpacks are kept in the hallways throughout the day. We ask students to be respectful of classmates' property and to also not keep anything of value in their backpack. Thank you for supporting us in having your student keep valuables at home.
Important Calendar Dates
There is NO SCHOOL for students on Thursday, October 16th, Friday, October 17th and Friday, Oct 31st.

Ya hemos completado el primer trimestre del año escolar. Ha sido gratificante ver a los estudiantes crecer y adaptarse a la escuela, además de demostrar su dominio de las expectativas de su grado.
Reuniones de Padres y Maestros
El miércoles 15 de octubre, de 4 a 8 p. m., y el jueves 16 de octubre, de 8 a. m. a 8 p. m., son días y horarios dedicados a las reuniones de padres y maestros. El personal ha compartido sus páginas de Signup Genius con las familias para programar una reunión de 30 minutos. Nuestro objetivo es lograr una asistencia del 100 % en las reuniones. Por favor, asegúrense de registrarse; esperamos con ansias estas oportunidades.
Ayúdenos a alimentar a nuestro personal durante las reuniones de padres y maestros donando golosinas o bebidas le agradeceríamos. Traigan sus donaciones a la oficina principal y nos aseguraremos de que se compartan con el personal el miércoles y el jueves.
Festividades de Otoño
Las aulas compartirán información sobre las festividades de otoño. El jueves 30 de octubre será un día de espíritu escolar para que los estudiantes se vistan con su atuendo o disfraz favorito de otoño. Si su estudiante desea usar su disfraz ese día, ¡puede hacerlo! Por favor, asegúrese de que su hijo use zapatos cómodos, no pantuflas. No se permiten disfraces sangrientos, violentos, inapropiados o demasiado aterradores. Los estudiantes no pueden usar mascarillas ni cubrebocas. Los disfraces no deben incluir elementos con efectos de sonido, luces u otros componentes que interrumpan el ambiente de aprendizaje en el aula. Por favor, guarden los accesorios en casa y no se permite ningún tipo de arma.
Mes contra el Acoso Escolar
Octubre es el mes contra el acoso escolar. Nuestros estudiantes de 3.º a 5.º grado pudieron aprender sobre diferentes estrategias de la compañía del Festival de Shakespeare de Colorado a través de una presentación de La Tempestad y talleres en el aula.
Las aulas han creado carteles para los pasillos con diversos mensajes contra el acoso escolar. También se han comprometido a ayudar a detener el acoso escolar y han escrito sus compromisos en eslabones de cadena de papel. No olviden revisarlos cuando estén en el edificio. Las familias tendrán la oportunidad de agregar sus compromisos a los enlaces en las reuniones de padres y maestros.
El jueves 22 de octubre es el Día de la Unidad en el mes contra el acoso escolar. Animamos a los estudiantes a vestirse de naranja ese día para apoyar las acciones contra el acoso escolar.
Noche de Carnaval de Alfabetización Familiar
El miércoles 22 de octubre, de 5:00 p. m. a 6:30 p. m., celebraremos una noche de carnaval de alfabetización familiar en la biblioteca pública. Habrá juegos y premios para los asistentes.
Accesorios para las mochilas
Cualquier accesorio de la mochila corre el riesgo de perderse o ser robado. Las mochilas de los estudiantes se guardan en los pasillos durante todo el día. Les pedimos a los estudiantes que respeten las pertenencias de sus compañeros y que no guarden nada de valor en sus mochilas. Gracias por apoyarnos y que su estudiante guarde objetos de valor en casa.

No habrá clases para los estudiantes el jueves 16, viernes 17 y viernes 31 de octubre.
