Subject: Follow-Up Update: Lifetouch Photography Services Contract Terminated

Dear Families,

As promised in my communication on Wednesday, February 18, I am writing to provide you with an update regarding the district's contract with Lifetouch photography services.

After further consultation with our legal counsel and Lifetouch management, we have immediately terminated our contract with Lifetouch. All upcoming Lifetouch photography events for the district are canceled immediately.  I want to emphasize that our decision to end this relationship was based entirely on the unrepairable breach of trust that occurred on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, between Lifetouch and the district, impacting our teachers, administrators, students, and families.

In ending this contract, Lifetouch has agreed to three specific caveats to ensure our families and students are protected:

  • Immediate Deletion of Photos: All images taken yesterday of non-paying students will be completely deleted today. We are awaiting a response that this has been done.

  • Fulfillment of Paid Orders: All families who have already paid for photography packages will receive their photos promptly.

  • No Negative Impact: There will be no financial, legal, or any other impact on our district or our families resulting from this immediate termination.

I want to reiterate my sincerest apologies to our families, parents, students, teachers, and administrators for the misinformation and frustration this situation has caused. Our staff communicated in good faith based on the written assurances we were originally given, and it is incredibly disappointing that those assurances were broken.

Moving Forward: Preserving Spring Memories

I know how important the springtime is for documenting memories, from spring portraits to kindergarten promotions and high school graduations. To fill this gap, our team is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) today to secure a new vendor for the remainder of the year.

To ensure transparency in how we select our new photography partner, our team has developed a grading rubric to guide in the selection process. Please note that preference will be given to local businesses. We are working diligently to secure a new vendor as quickly as possible and hope to schedule our spring picture days in April and May of this year. We will keep you informed as soon as our new photography partner is selected and dates are finalized.  The Request for Proposals can be found HERE.

Thank you again for your patience, support, and understanding as we navigated this issue to protect our district's values of transparency, communication, and student safety.

Sincerely,

Justin E. Ralston, Ed.D.

Superintendent
