‘THE BEST KIND OF EDUCATION TAKES PLACE WHEN WE LEARN FROM ANOTHER – MINDS AND SOULS IN TOUCH, RATHER THAN THE INDIVIDUAL STANDING APART AND, AS THEY SAY, ‘DOING HIS OWN THING’.” WALKER PERCY
The power of an education is incredible. I am honored, humbled, and blessed to be a part of education of Butler elementary students and staff. I have considered Butler a home for the last four years and looking forward to creating opportunities for learning and growing in the future as the principal of Butler elementary school.
My love for learning started at a young age. I have memories of playing school with my younger sisters. Many years later, I attended the University of Northern Colorado and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication with an emphasis in Secondary Education and a minor in English as a Second Language. A few years later, I attended Regis University and earned a Master's of Arts in Teaching and Learning. After many years in the classroom, I was inspired to become an administrator. I attended the University of Denver as part of their Program for School Leaders and earned credits for my principal licensure. Currently, I am a student of the University of Colorado, Denver working on a doctorate degree in Leadership for Educational Equity: Latin@ Learners and Communities.
This is my 18th year as an educator. I am a Colorado native and embrace every aspect of living in Colorado. My family and I work hard to play hard. We enjoy the swimming in the summer sun and skiing in the winter snow. When I get a chance, I enjoy reading, running, and creating memories with family and friends.
