Butler Elementary Families! May 5, 2026
What a year! Thank you for sharing your student with us. It has been a pleasure watching students grow and master so many skills throughout the year. Take the time to celebrate all of your students’ accomplishments. We are at the point in our school year in which we are acknowledging the growth in the students, preparing them for the next grade and closing the school year out with various activities.
Field Day - CHANGE in DATES
Students will be participating in field day activities on FRIDAY, MAY 15th. This day students will have a different daily schedule and lunch times will be different than a typical day. Families are encouraged to watch and cheer on their students during field day. Please stay connected to Class Dojo for more information from Coach Jolley.
Teacher Work Day and Plan Meeting Day
Elementary teachers have a work day on Friday, May 8, and a Plan Meeting Day on Monday, May 11th. Elementary students do not have school on these two days. Teachers will be contacting families to discuss READ plans and language plans for impacted students on Monday, May 11th. If you have questions regarding READ or language plans please contact your student’s classroom teacher.
Summer Learning Opportunities
There are many different summer learning opportunities. The public library will be presenting to students during the day on May 14 and sharing the free summer reading program. There is a STEM summer camp option available for a fee. Families are encouraged to check out the district website for more information.
One Book, One Butler
Every student has been gifted a copy of Pax by Sara Pennypacker. Please take a moment every day to read along with your student. Listen to Dr. Rosasco and other staff read sections of Pax throughout the weeks and into summer.

End of Year Assembly and Report Cards
On Wednesday, May 20th grade levels will participate in an End of Year Celebration Assembly. There will be a special assembly schedule for this day. Students will be sent home with all their belongings and a copy of their report card.
Last Day of School
We are encouraging students to arrive on their last day of school, Thursday, May 21st with no backpacks.
Hug and Go Lane
Please help keep students safe while dropping off and picking up. Students should only be exiting vehicles from the hug and go lane or from a vehicle in a parking space. The Hug and Go lane should be a continuous roll of traffic and should not be a lane where vehicles are left unattended or left in a parking position. Students should not be exiting a car from the lane of drive through traffic.
