Happy Winter Butler Elementary! Dec 1, 2025

The weather is cooling and daylight is shortening.  Please ensure your student is dressed for the weather.

Lunch and Recess Time Changes

We have listened to the feedback from students, staff and parents regarding lunch time.  Our leadership team met and were able to adjust schedules to address the “lunch time crunch”.  Recess is scheduled for before lunch.  Thank you for the support and feedback regarding this situation.
Please note starting on Monday, December 1st lunch times will be as following:

Kindergarten and 4th Grade 11:25-11:45

1st and 3rd Grade 11:50-12:10

2nd and 5th Grade 12:15-12:35  

Outside Recess and Weather

As the temperatures get a little colder, please know we use the Child Care Weather Watch to determine outside recess or indoor recess.  A general guideline is if it is 30 degrees outside and no precipitation, students will go outside.  Please ensure your student has appropriate jackets, hats, gloves and shoes/boots for outside play. 

New Front Office Camera and Sign-in

We are excited to share that we have had an upgrade in our security system at Butler.  This upgrade has impacted our front vestibule camera and office access.  Every guest to Butler will need to ring the bell (a button on the camera) and provide an ID.  The doorbell signals to the front office staff via computer and they will be able to greet guests through this new process.  In addition, we have updated and added cameras throughout the hallways and public areas in and out of the school for safety and security purposes.

Fall Food Drive & Thank you!

Thank you to all who participated in this event.  We collected 1,174 items which were delivered to the Fort Lupton Food Bank.  Congratulations to the following top contributing classes for the Food Drive: 1st place: Mrs. Mbise, 2nd place: Mrs. Lafferty, 3rd place: Mr. Roberts. Thank you to the NEHS members in collecting and counting our amazing efforts. . 

District Accountability Committee

Weld Re-8 School District will be hosting their Accountability Committee  on Wednesday, December 20th starting at 5:30pm in the District Boardroom.  All are welcome to attend this meeting. 

Important Calendar Dates 

• 3rd grade Music Performance, December 4th @ 5:45pm
• Middle of Year Assessment all students K-5: Tuesday, December 9 and Wednesday, December 10th.
• District Tinsel Tree Festival: Saturday, December 13, 10:00-3:00pm @ Fort Lupton High School Library
• There is NO SCHOOL for students on Friday, December 19th.
• Winter Break is from December 22 - January 6th.  The building will be closed during this time.
• Students are expected to be in school on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.

El clima está refrescando y los días se están acortando. Por favor, asegúrese de que su estudiante esté vestido de acuerdo con el clima.

Cambios en el horario del almuerzo y el recreo

Hemos escuchado los comentarios de los estudiantes, el personal y los padres sobre el horario del almuerzo. Nuestro equipo de liderazgo se reunió y logró ajustar los horarios para abordar la escasez de almuerzo. El recreo está programado antes del almuerzo. Gracias por su apoyo y comentarios sobre esta situación.

Tenga en cuenta que a partir del lunes 1 de diciembre, los horarios del almuerzo serán los siguientes:

Kínder y 4.º grado: 11:25-11:45

1.º y 3.er grado: 11:50-12:10

2.º y 5.º grado: 12:15-12:35

Recreo al aire libre y el clima

A medida que las temperaturas bajan un poco, tenga en cuenta que utilizamos la Alerta meteorológica de guardería para determinar si es un recreo al aire libre o en el interior. Como norma general, si la temperatura exterior es de 30 grados y no llueve, los estudiantes podrán salir. Por favor, asegúrese de que su estudiante tenga chaquetas, gorros, guantes y zapatos/botas adecuados para jugar al aire libre.

Nueva cámara y registro en la oficina principal

Nos complace compartir que hemos actualizado nuestro sistema de seguridad en Butler. Esta actualización ha afectado la cámara del vestíbulo principal y el acceso a la oficina. Todos los visitantes de Butler deberán tocar el timbre (un botón en la cámara) y presentar una identificación. El timbre avisará al personal de la oficina principal por computadora, quienes podrán recibir a los visitantes mediante este nuevo proceso. Además, hemos actualizado y agregado cámaras en los pasillos y áreas públicas dentro y fuera de la escuela para mayor seguridad.

¡Agradecimiento a la colecta de alimentos de otoño!

Gracias a todos los que participaron en este evento. Recolectamos 1174 artículos que se entregaron al Banco de Alimentos de Fort Lupton. Felicitaciones a las siguientes clases con mayor contribución a la colecta de alimentos: 1.er lugar: Sra. Mbise, 2.º lugar: Sra. Lafferty, 3.er lugar: Sr. Roberts. Gracias a los miembros de NEHS por recolectar y contabilizar nuestros increíbles esfuerzos.

Comité de Responsabilidad del Distrito

El Distrito Escolar Weld Re-8 celebrará su Comité de Responsabilidad el miércoles 20 de diciembre a partir de las 5:30 p. m. en la Sala de Juntas del Distrito. Todos están invitados a asistir a esta reunión.

Fechas importantes del calendario

Presentación musical de 3.er grado, 4 de diciembre a las 5:45 p. m.

Evaluación de mitad de año para todos los estudiantes de K-5: martes 9 y miércoles 10 de diciembre.

Festival del Árbol de Oropel del Distrito: sábado 13 de diciembre, de 10:00 a 3:00 p. m. en la biblioteca de la escuela preparatoria de Fort Lupton.

No hay clases para los estudiantes el viernes 19 de diciembre.

Las vacaciones de invierno son del 22 de diciembre al 6 de enero. El edificio permanecerá cerrado durante este tiempo. Se espera que los estudiantes asistan a la escuela el miércoles 7 de enero de 2026.
